The South Park franchise has a long history with games, and while not all of the games ever made have been excellent (we try to forget about South Park Rally for the most part), there are some real pearls in the mix. Since The Stick Of Truth and The Fractured But Whole, South Park games have become a franchise all on their own, and while Snow Day is a departure from the RPG gameplay seen in those two games, it could still be a genuine hit. Check out the new gameplay trailer at the top of the page.
A co-op brawler/shooter for up to four players, South Park: Snow Day once again casts players as The New Kid in another Stick of Truth-based war across the whole town, though if previous South Park games are anything to go by, it’s quickly going to devolve into government conspiracies, full-blown ridiculousness and a ManBearPig boss fight. Admittedly, it’s a bit weird seeing iconic 2D characters rendered in 3D like this, but Question and South Park Digital Studios have done an excellent job translating the simplistic style of South Park into the third dimension.
Throughout Snow Day, players will be able to equip a variety of melee and ranged weapons to cause havoc throughout town, and you’ll also utilise plenty of fart and non-fart related special abilities to turn the tide of a battle. While South Park: Snow Day is probably not going to win any Game of the Year awards when it launches (release date TBA), it’ll definitely be a fun co-op experience for you and your friends.
South Park: Snow Day is set to launch on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X & S and the Nintendo Switch.
