It’s as if Ninja from Die Antwoord’s recent stage appearance with Marilyn Manson and Johnny Depp, which resulted in trending across numerous t’interweb platforms and social networks, couldn’t have been timed any better (hmm…). Lo and behold not days later everyone’s favourite South African rap duo, have dropped the music video for the latest single off of this year’s Donker Mag, ‘Ugly Boy’.
It’s a video of them doing what they do best; strange. Starting off with a nice and aggressive answer phone message for Tony, it soon becomes the sweetly romantic track that ‘Ugly Boy’ is. You know, in a Die Antwoord being sweet and romantic kind of way, the they-fink-each-other-is-freeky-but-they-like-each-other-a-lot kind of way. It’s lovely really. They just love each other so fucking much.
So yeah, there’s that and the fact that this time they brought some famous friends to come play (forever and ever) in the shape of Marilyn Manson, Dita Von Teese, Flea, Jack Black, Cara Delevingne, and the ATL twins. All on board for putting on some make up, pretend wounds, blood, and having some good old fashioned family fun. Except for Manson and Von Teese, they just came in their casual wear.
