An excellent milestone.

Mortal Shell: Enhanced Edition, the PS5 and Xbox Series X | S versions of last year’s well-received indie roguelike adventure, is launching today. To celebrate the news, developers Cold Symmetry and publishers Playstack have announced that the game has managed to exceed over 500,000 sales across all available platforms.

That’s A Healthy Amount of Sales, Huh?

For an indie game certainly, and it would appear that Playstack are more than thrilled with the game’s success. Harvey Elliott, chief executive for Playstack, said the following in a press release: “Mortal Shell continues to blaze a trail for Playstack. Reaching 500,000 sales is a wonderful and deserving achievement for the supremely talented developers at Cold Symmetry. It gives us plenty of optimism for a busy year ahead for the game, which kicks off today with the release of Mortal Shell: Enhanced Edition. Our fans have been incredible and we can’t wait to show them what’s next.”

So What’s The Enhanced Edition About?

Announced last week, the Enhanced Edition of the game includes upgraded textures, and will support 4K at 60fps on PS5 and Xbox Series X. The Series S version will only support 4K at 30fps, but that’s still impressive. Better still, the Enhanced Edition will be available as a free upgrade to existing players, however the press release we received noted that PS4 owners who upgrade to the PS5 won’t be able to carry their data over. Looks like you’re starting from scratch.
