Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath’s Friendships Trailer Is The Wholesome Content You Need

"Why can't we be friends?"

Mortal Kombat 11

In the run-up to the expansion’s launch next week, NetherRealm Studios have released a new trailer for the upcoming Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath DLC. Instead of focusing on the combat itself though, this trailer asks one simple question: why can’t we be friends?

With Smash Mouth’s cover of the classic song “Why Can’t We Be Friends?” playing over the background, the trailer showcases snippets of each character’s unique Friendship finisher, which trades brutal murder for wholesome family fun. The Friendships on offer include some dancing, Sub-Zero delivering ice cream and Jax rocking a beautiful saxaphone solo. It’s absolutely brilliant.

The Friendships will arrive as a free update to Mortal Kombat 11 when Aftermath launches on May 26th. The free update also includes new stages and some more traditional stage fatalities, just for when you don’t want to be friends any more. The Aftermath DLC pack also includes 3 new characters in the form of Sheeva, Fujin and Robocop, along with 3 skin packs and some bonus Story Mode content. Are you excited for MK 11: Aftermath?
