Monster Hunter Rise, the latest addition in Capcom’s long-running series of smacking dragons with big weapons, looks set to be another success comparable to that of Monster Hunter World, as the publisher have announced that the game has already managed to sell 4 million copies.

4 Million Units Already?

Despite only launching on Friday, and only for the Nintendo Switch, Rise has managed to accrue a similar level of success to Monster Hunter World, which managed to shift 5 million units a couple of days after launch. World was available on both PS4 and Xbox One from day one.

As for the series as a whole, by December 31st, 2020, Monster Hunter had managed to accrue 66 million units sold globally. The successful launch of Rise will now see the series surpass 70 million units, and with a PC launch for Rise still on the horizon, it’s only going to continue growing from here.
