Michael Keaton In Talks To Return As The Vulture In New Spider-Man Movie

Spider-Man Homecoming

Michael Keaton could be about to reprise his role as the villainous Vulture in a new Spider-Man movie, according to a report from Variety.

Hot on the heels of Jake Gyllenhaal edging closer to adorning a fishbowl as Mysterio, Keaton’s return as The Vulture makes a lot of sense with Homecoming certainly leaving the door open. The MCU doesn’t have that many memorable villains, but Vulture certainly fits the bill.

In Homecoming, Keaton’s Vulture was a weapons dealer with a twist after he discovered Chitauri weaponry left over from the climactic battle of The Avengers. He wasn’t an out-and-out bad dude, more so someone who wanted the best for his family. Speaking of family, it’s hard to forget that brilliantly executed twist in Homecoming.

If you want to read into the dual news of Keaton and Gyllenhaal, it could be paving the way for a partnership between the two villains, which could then eventually lead into a Sinister Six movie. Sony wildly wanted to make that without Spidey, but maybe Marvel can pull it off. Saying that, most superhero movies struggles with more than one villain at once, as evidenced by Spider-Man 3.
