Mega Man 11 Officially Announced For PS4, XB1, Switch & PC

Capcom confirmed today that Mega Man 11 will be heading to PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC in late 2018, just in time for Mega Man’s 30th anniversary. Along with this announcement, the publisher also confirmed that all of the Mega Man X games will be re-released next year, presumably in the form of a single compilation. This news will probably make Mighty No. 9 cry like an anime fan on prom night.

Mega Man 11 will come a full eight years after the release of Mega Man 10, and see a return of the classic side-scrolling action which made the series so popular over the years. Unlike the previous entries, the game will also feature 3D character models alongside hand-painted backgrounds, and the result looks pretty damn sweet. See for yourself in the announcement trailer below.

To date, the Mega Man franchise has sold over 30 million copies, making it Capcom’s fourth most successful franchise. The Mega Man character also went on to become a hugely iconic figure in the gaming industry, and basically serves as Capcom’s unofficial mascot (why they didn’t include him in Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds except in the form of alternate costumes for Zero and Frank West is beyond me), so it’s about time he was put back in the limelight.

Until the release of Mega Man 11 next year, you can enjoy two pieces of concept art created for the game thanks to the fine folks over at GameSpot.
