Like A Dragon: Ishin is one of only a couple of games in the long and beloved series that takes place far outside of the usual canon, this time taking place during the dying days of samurai in the 1860s. Even the main character is different, as you control Sakamoto Ryoma and not everyone’s favorite Dragon of Dojima, but you just knew they had to cram in a way to play as Kazuma Kiryu in Like A Dragon: Ishin anyway.

To play as Kazuma Kiryu, players must have purchased the Deluxe Edition of Like A Dragon: Ishin, which costs around $69.99/£54.99 depending on where you purchase it from and whether it’s physical or digital. You may also be able to buy it separately as the Dragon of Dojima Skin, which could work out cheaper for you if you just want the Kiryi skin and nothing else from the Deluxe Edition.

Once you have access to the DLC, you now need to claim it, but you will have to wait until Chapter 2 — roughly an hour of gameplay — to do so. Once you wake up in the inn, go downstairs, walk to the kitchen in the back and talk to the surprisingly friendly Bakumatsu Bob.

Bob is essentially your DLC vendor. Find The Dragon of Dojima Skin among the selections, then select Take and save when prompted.

After that, heads back upstairs and walk into Ryoma’s room. Approach the clothes hanging on the wall, then press A/X to change clothes. Find the Kiryu skin under the head options, then select it and back out to start wearing the Kiryu skin.

Congratulations, 1800s Japan just got a whole lot more rad.

Like A Dragon: Ishin is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X & S.
