The Lego Ninjago Movie Video Game Trailer Kicks Butt

Although it was ultimately a modest financial hit with a total gross of $310,850,384, this year’s The Lego Batman Movie still underperformed at the box office and was considered to be something of a disappointment. So, unless The Lego Ninjago Movie, which releases on September 22, proves to be a major success, it seems likely that Warner Bros. will significantly scale back their slate of planned Lego films.

To coincide with Ninjago’s release, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment will be publishing a video game adaptation on the same date. Like the vast majority of Lego video games, it will be developed by Traveller’s Tales, and will be released on Xbox One, PS4, PC and Switch.

Judging by the new trailer released on WB Games’ YouTube channel, it looks like The Lego Ninjago Movie Game will be a return to the classic action platforming formula which made Lego video games so endearing over the years. Cinema Blend also spoke to the devs at the San Diego Comic-Con and learned that the game will also feature an open-world environment similar to Lego Batman 2 and Lego Marvel Superheroes, so it sounds like this will be more than worth its asking price.
