The development of Halo Infinite hasn’t exactly been smooth sailing, as a number of key workers have left 343 Industries during the game’s development, but today sees another huge blow. According to a report from Bloomberg, Halo Infinite’s lead Chris Lee has resigned from the company.

Who Is Chris Lee?

Chris Lee was the Studio Head of FPS Development at 343, and he oversaw the development of Halo Infinite for the majority of the project. However, after the game was delayed back in August, it would appear that he was sidelined in favour of bringing aboard Joe Staten and Pierre Hintze, who would manage the single-player and multiplayer portions of the game respectively. Chris has been with 343 since 2008, a year after it was founded, though it’s worth noting that he is still employed by Microsoft.

Who Else Has Left Halo Infinite?

Since its announcement, there have been two other huge departures during Halo Infinite’s development. The original creative director, Tim Longo, left the company back in 2019, while Lead Producer Mary Olsen left shortly afterwards. Considering that Chris Lee’s departure comes a few weeks before Halo Infinite’s originally scheduled launch, it’s unclear how much of an impact his departure will have, but it speaks to a development period that’s been incredibly tumultuous.
