Kurt Angle Chooses Baron Corbin As His WrestleMania Opponent

It will be his final match.

In a somewhat underwhelming turn of events, Kurt Angle selected former Raw GM Baron Corbin as his last opponent in WWE.

Kurt revealed last week that this year’s WrestleMania will mark his retirement match and the end of his farewell tour. Going toe to toe with Apollo and Chad Gable over the past two weeks, it seemed that WWE were trying to fit in as many possible dream matches as they could leading to Mania in New York. In the eyes of the hardcore fan, that’s now been derailed by the plans to end the feud between the Olympic Gold Medalist and The Lone Wolf.

I personally don’t mind seeing Angle and Corbin tussle on the grandest stage. After all, we never really saw a satisfying conclusion to their rivalry last year. Seeing Angle throw Corbin about and eventually tapping him out in the middle of the ring will make for a sweet ending to his legendary career.

Unlike some other names on the roster, Corbin can take the loss and probably come back from it.

If you’re more in this for the graps then maybe stick to the subsequent matches on Raw each week, it seems like that’s where the last of Angle’s phenomenal matches are going to be. But I for one am looking forward to seeing Corbin get schooled at Wrestlemania.
