John Carpenter to Headline ATP’s Release The Bats Festival 2016

Do you have plans for next Halloween?

Now, before y’all start having a go at me, I know that this year’s Halloween is still very much visible in the rear view mirror. I mean, in my case it’s still very much visible on my skin; Halloween doesn’t heal quickly, kids, Halloween does not heal quickly. Regardless of those facts, this year’s Halloween is in the past now, and we can either mourn it, or we can look forward to next year. I propose we opt for the latter. Even though I know you’re all just champing at the bit to get Christmas underway.

Why bypass Christmas and focus your attention toward next Halloween? Because John Carpenter, Master of Horror and King of Halloween (sorry Jack), will be headlining All Tomorrow’s Parties’ returning Release The Bats festival, that’s why. Yes, the maestro himself will be bringing his infamous horror soundtracks to life, in person, for your perverse pleasure. Alongside this, his appearance will also be a general retrospective of his musical output, including his album Lost Themes and all new compositions.

I’ll ask you again, do you have plans for next Halloween?

Tickets are already on sale for Release The Bats, with an event in Manchester’s Albert Hall on October 29th and another at The Troxy in London on Halloween itself. Both venues will be will be in fancy dress and looking especially ghoulish, as punters are encouraged to join in with. This is likely to be one of hell of a Halloween shindig. Well, two hells of a Halloweens shindigs… somethings likes thats anyways.

Aside from its Halloween offshoot, John Carpenter will be making an appearance at All Tomorrow’s Parties’ now annual Iceland event, alongside the likes of Sleep, Thee Oh Sees, Tortoise, Les Savy Fav, Angel Olsen, Blanck Mass, and many more, if you’d prefer to listen to Carpenter’s ice cold synths in equally ice cold surroundings.
