Jey Uso Arrested For DWI After Failing Sobriety Test

SmackDown star Jey Uso was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Despite his weekend arrest, Uso appeared with his brother and tag team partner on Tuesday night’s SmackDown Live broadcast.

Uso, real name Joshua Samuel Fatu, was picked up in Hidalgo County, Texas, after being pulled over by police for a routine traffic violation.

According to a representative of Hidalgo County PD, Uso is alleged to have displayed signs of being under the influence of an as-yet-undetermined substance.

After being charged by the arresting officer with DWI (Driving While Intoxicated), Uso was taken into police custody. Reports are unclear as to whether Uso was subject to a breathalyser test.

WWE released a short statement confirming the arrest and indicated that any punishment from his employers may well be lenient.

“Joshua Fatu is responsible for his own personal actions,” the company said. “We are investigating the matter and awaiting information from local law enforcement officials.”

The Usos are putting their SmackDown Tag Team Championships on the line against the team of Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin in a 2 Out Of 3 Falls contest at the Royal Rumble on Sunday, January 28th.
