Jericho And Omega Feud Picks Up Pace Ahead Of January Clash

In just under three weeks, Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega clash at New Japan’s Wrestle Kingdom 12 at the Tokyo Dome on January 4th.

The wrestling world trembles in anticipation for what will be the earliest contender for 2018’s Match Of The Year. Yet the pair have upped the ante even more in the last two days with a brace of bruising encounters that have spread across social media like wildfire.

On Monday, Jericho turned up at the NJPW World Tag League Final just as Omega was ready to begin a defense of his IWGP United States Championship.

A full-heel Jericho ambushed and laid waste to Omega. A video promo distracted the latter long enough for the former to hit a Code Breaker and bust him open with his own belt before delivering a savage beating. As you can see, it isn’t just Omega that bears the brunt of Jericho’s aggression.

Not 24 hours later, Omega had his revenge on the Ayatollah of Rock N’ Rolla with a revenge attack at a press conference Jericho was helming.

Much like their first encounter in the ring only hours prior, their second dose of bad blood was frantic and brutal.

In the aftermath, Omega finally being dragged away Jericho cut a promo in which he called himself “the best in the world” before threatening to “kick the sh*t” out of Omega.

As Shakespeare said, brevity is the soul of wit.

This match promises to be perhaps an all-time classic. With expectation already so high before events of the last 48 hours, both wrestlers will have to pull out all of the stops to match the increased hype and fervour.
