Star Wars: Bounty Hunter is back! Erm, again! After a previous, not very impressive port for the last generation, the PS2 cult classic from 2002 is back for 2024 with a host of improvements. But is this more than just a fancy port? Join me in the video to find out.
But TL;DW:
PROS:
– The game is still very fun in that brilliant 6th-gen arcade-y way.
– The controls are much tighter.
– The camera feels better overall.
– Still loads of unlockables, including a brand new(ish) Boba Fett skin.
CONS:
– A lot more could have been done here, really. It’s closer to a souped-up port of the GameCube version than a remaster.
– Lots of low quality textures and audio.
– Those controls still aren’t perfect.
– Lock-on can be nightmarish.
Still, this is probably the best way to play the original game on newer hardware, so anyone who just wants to tie up dudes with names like Fart Fruitfinder and Surp Shlimbo will no doubt have a good time.
Star Wars: Bounty Hunter (the better port) is available now for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, and Switch
