Injustice 2’s Latest DLC Character Atom Gets New Gameplay Trailer

Injustice

NetherRealm Studios have finally revealed a full gameplay trailer for Injustice 2’s next DLC fighter: Ryan Choi, otherwise known as Atom. If the trailer is anything to go by, Choi is no slouch when it comes to throwing hands with DC’s finest.

During gameplay, we see Atom make use of his subatomic abilities to get out of harm’s way. It appears that his ability to shrink isn’t just linked to dodge projectiles and dashing past opponents, as he can also launch attacks in his tiny form. In motion, it looks like the opponent is being attacked by a blue orb. It’s kind of weird. He also has a throw which sees him fly into his opponent’s head, forcing them to smack themselves in order to dislodge Atom.

His other special moves are quite set up heavy, often using different gadgets against his opponents, immobilising them in order to follow up with additional damage. The trailer doesn’t show much in the way of big combo potential, but give the pro players a couple of hours and they’ll find something. They always do.

All in all, Atom looks like one of the most interesting characters in all of fighting games. The shrinking mechanic has never really been done before, and it’ll be interesting to see how that plays out in real matches. Atom will be available as part of Fighter Pack 3 along with the upcoming Enchantress and the flipping Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, though Ultimate Edition holders will also have access to him when he launches on December 12th. Check out his gameplay trailer below.
