If you’ve been curious about how the PS5 upgrade badge will look on PS4 box art, Ubisoft’s Immortals Fenyx Rising has provided the answers. The PS4 box art has been revealed, featuring a small little badge at the bottom that states PS5 Upgrade Available.
Sony aren’t making a big song and dance about offering free next-gen upgrades in the same way Xbox are through their Smart Delivery system. Instead, Sony are leaving next-gen upgrades up to the company’s discretion, with companies like Ubisoft offering free upgrades, EA running a Dual Entitlement system while 2K are forcing players to pay an extra $40 for cross-gen.
Sony themselves haven’t confirmed whether or not they’ll offer next-gen upgrades for their own first party titles, but there haven’t been any first-party exclusives that have been confirmed for both consoles.
