Long suffering fans of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower would have rejoiced when it was announced that the movie adaptation was finally going ahead after lots of speculation and near misses. When it was revealed that Idris Elba would be bringing his pedigree to the role of Roland Deschain, reception was mixed, but there’s no denying Elba has the chops to carry it off.
Now, thanks to anti-hero set spies, we now have our first look at Idris Elba in costume.

He looks pretty damn rad if you ask us. He will be acting alongside Matthew McConaughey as the Man in Black and Kathryn Winnick, Fran Kranz, Abbey Lee, and Jackie Earle Haley in unannounced roles.
The synopsis:
The Dark Tower series tells the story of Roland Deschain, Mid-World’s last gunslinger, who is traveling southeast across Mid-World’s post-apocalyptic landscape, searching for the powerful but elusive magical edifice known as The Dark Tower. Located in the fey region of End-World, amid a sea of singing red roses, the Dark Tower is the nexus point of the time-space continuum. It is the heart of all worlds, but it is also under threat. Someone, or something, is using the evil technology of the Great Old Ones to destroy it.
