HBO Producing A Steven Spielberg Documentary, Literally Everyone Is Involved

Well, I suppose this news shouldn’t really come as a shock to anyone, but literally everyone in Hollywood is going to be in HBO’s Steven Spielberg biopic, cleverly titled “Spielberg.” After all, his movies have touched the hearts of millions of people. But most of the talking heads in this new documentary have the added distinction of being made rich, or at least a little richer, by working with him. And that, my friends, is what really brings the tears to my eyes.

According to Variety, the film will be directed by Susan Lacy and it will air on October 7th. Lacy is an experienced short-form documentary filmmaker specializing in biographies, so she’s certainly an appropriate choice. Lacy has directed episodes of the PBS American Masters  series on Rod Serling, Judy Garland, and other entertainment-industry luminaries.

And, holy hell, check out the list of guests appearing in this thing:

Abrams, Christian Bale, Drew Barrymore, Cate Blanchett, Francis Ford Coppola, Daniel Craig, Daniel Day-Lewis, Brian de Palma, Laura Dern, Leonardo DiCaprio, Richard Dreyfuss, Ralph Fiennes, Harrison Ford, David Geffen, Tom Hanks, Dustin Hoffman, Holly Hunter, Jeffrey Katzenberg, Ben Kingsley, Kathleen Kennedy, George Lucas, Liam Neeson, Martin Scorsese, Oprah Winfrey, and Robert Zemeckis.
