Halo Infinite: How To Fast Travel

Halo Infinite

Halo Infinite’s campaign is available to play right now, with the long-awaiting single-player experience grappling with a new format as the series shifts to an open world. Because Halo’s moved to an open world formula though, some players who don’t have lots of time on their hands might be put off by the change, so you might want to fast travel in Halo Infinite to make things a bit quicker.

Here’s everything you need to know about fast travelling in Halo Infinite.

Can You Fast Travel In Halo Infinite?

Yes, you can fast travel in Halo Infinite, though you don’t unlock the ability immediately. The game’s campaign opens up with two more traditional, linear levels, before the player begins the liberation of Outpost Tremonius. After clearing the outpost, the game prompts you to hop into a Pelican with Echo-216, who’ll take you to your next main objective.

Once you arrive at your main objective, which is to infiltrate a huge tower, you’ll then have the ability to fast travel to different places on the map, which initially seems handy because going from Outpost Tremonius to The Tower skips over plenty of unliberated FOBs and other open world activities. However, the area between Outpost Tremonius and The Tower is inaccessible until you complete the objective. Once you’ve finished The Tower and the bridge to the island where Outpost Tremonius resides is built, Outpost Tremonius will then open its doors.

Basically, do the first three missions, then you can fast travel around the map with impunity.

Where Can You Fast Travel To?

The Fast Travel mechanic is somewhat limited, in the sense that you can’t just set a waypoint and then head there immediately. Still, there’s a decent selection of destinations to choose from. Players can travel to any liberated FOB, along with any completed Outpost and completed main missions after The Tower. With this, you can more easily mop up collectibles like audio tapes, Spartan Cores, skulls and more.

Halo Infinite is available now on PC, Xbox Series X | S, and Xbox One.
