Halo Infinite

What good is a first person shooter without some weapons with which to do some serious damage? The weapons in the Halo series have always been a highlight for the classic franchise, and Halo Infinite looks set to continue that long-running tradition with a healthy mix of classic, legendary weapons, along with some newcomers to boot.

Here’s everything you need to know about Halo Infinite’s Weapons.

How Many Weapons Are In Halo Infinite?

There are, at the moment, 22 equippable weapons in Halo Infinite, along with four different types of grenades, making for a total of 26 weapons that you can find while playing multiplayer games. Some, like your standard rifles and others, are available as normal pick-ups scattered around the map, while others are power weapons which spawn in periodically that both teams have to fight over.

What Weapons Are In Halo Infinite?

Here’s the 22 weapons featured in Halo Infinite, along with a brief description of what they are:

MA40 Assault Rifle (Halo’s standard, short to mid-range assault rifle)
Pulse Carbine (a short to mid-range burst fire weapon, with plasma projectiles that track targets)
BR75 (Halo’s classic three round burst Battle Rifle, a mid-range powerhouse)
VK78 Commando (a precision heavy rifle, fires full auto and effective at medium to long range)
Shock Rifle (semi-auto long distance rifle, shots cause electric arcs on nearby enemies)
MK50 Sidekick (standard issue pistol, “switching to your sidearm is faster than reloading”)
Mangler (upgraded Mauler, an alien revolver that shreds in short to mid-range)
Plasma Pistol (semi-auto, shots can be charged to strip enemy shields, but no longer triggers EMP effects on vehicles)
Disruptor (short to mid-range pistols, deals damage over time and can EMP vehicles along with the Shock Rifle)
CQS48 Bulldog (shotgun, stick in enemy’s face, pull the trigger and they won’t have a face anymore)
Heatwave (a hardlight weapon that fires in a set pattern, though alt-firing changes the pattern)
Sentinel Beam (continuous firing beam great at destroying shields)
Needler (fear the pink mist, fires pink crystals that can trigger detonations on infantry targets)
Stalker Rifle (a precision plasma weapon, mid to long range with decent damage)
S7 Sniper (long-rage, two zoom settings, will kill most targets in one headshot)
Skewer (a Banished sniper and vampire hunter’s dream, fires a stake that can instakill, but slow to fire/reload)
Cindershot (hardlight grenade launcher with massive damage, with ability to control the projectile while zoomed in)
Ravager (burst-fires “globs” of plasma, but can be charged to unleash an area of effect attack)
Hydra (a guided missile launcher which hones in on targets after lock-on)
M41 SPNKr (twin-tube rocket launcher, you know the drill)
Energy Sword (shiny scalpel, one hit kill on pretty much all enemies)
Gravity Hammer (big hammer, slow to swing but does massive area damage, can kill mulitple enemies in one swing)

Here’s the grenades that you can use in Halo Infinite:

M9 Frag Grenade (standard frag grenade ordinance, deals high explosive damage)
Plasma Grenade (alien grenade, sticks to enemies to cause a one hit-kill)
Spike Grenade (similar to Plasma, but also sticks to walls and floors, so it can have other utilities)
Dynamo Grenade (new to Halo Infinite, it’s a Banished grenade that deals shock damage to anything in the vicinity, and can disable vehicles)

How Can I Practice Using These Weapons?

Again, most of these weapons can only be found when exploring the game’s maps, and with other players competing to use the same weapons, you might not know how to expertly handle these tools of destruction.

Fortunately, Halo Infinite has both a Weapon Drills mode (which doesn’t include the Energy Sword, Hammer or grenades, unfortunately), along with a Training Mode that lets you control which weapons to use against bots. They’re both perfect ways to become accustomed to the game’s weapons before diving online.

Halo Infinite is available on PC, Xbox Series X | S, and Xbox One.
