Archery Challenges are a new activity in Ghost of Tsushima‘s Iki island expansion.

In Archery Challenges, players race against the clock to hit all targets in enough time to either unlock Bronze, Silver, or Gold. Each tier adds .1 seconds to the Concentration Charm that you unlock for getting at least a Bronze in your first Archery Challenge.

Getting Gold in Archery Challenges is a big ask, with you needing to hit all targets within 7 seconds, but it is impossible.

The most important tool for the Archery Challenges is the Concentration technique, which you should have unlocked over the course of the main campaign. Concentration is found under Evolving Tactics and lets you press R3 to slow time while aiming with your bow.

Apart from that technique, you definitely want to pick up Tadayori’s Armour if you haven’t already and then upgrade it to the max. The armour, which can be unlocked by completing the Mythic Tale “The Legend of Tadayori”, allows you to nock (basically how long it takes to fully pull the arrow back for max accuracy) and reload 30% faster, and also increases Concentration time by 2 seconds.

There are also some Charms that can help you to shoot the targets faster.

The aforementioned Charm of Concentration will add 0.1 seconds of Concentration with each tier you pass, meaning it will get better the more Archery Challenges you complete.

There’s also the Charm of Efficiency, which makes nocking speeds 15% faster and can also be stacked, meaning you can have multiple of them equipped.

The next best way to get Gold in these Archery Challenges is just to practice, learn the quickest routes, and accept that you might not nail every shot first time. Use Concentration with R3 to allow yourself to more easily reach targets that are further away without eating up as much time, and remember to also aim slightly above those that are especially high up or seem further away to compensate for drop.

Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut is available now on PS5 and PS4.
