Caretakers of the Eagle is a quest in Ghost of Tsushima that’s available in the Iki island expansion.
While the quest appears in your journal, it’s not immediately clear where you have to go. After making a little bit of main story progress and liberating the market, you should venture on over to a small fishing village to the southeast.
Find a woman who tells you about her missing kids who have been taken by a monk called Zenshin to Cloud Forest Temple, which will then be marked on your map again to the southeast of your current location.
When you arrive at the temple, another woman will tell you all about what’s going on, imploring you to spy from a ridge.
Follow the circles and press X when they are small to progress and scope the place out. Jin will change into normal clothes so you can infiltrate the area; jump down from the ridge.
Speak to the warden, then Okami with her baby who will tell you the prisoners are locked away.
Proceed to a guarded building and sneak a listen underneath on the right side of the building.
Rest around the campfire until the building is less guarded. Jin will change back into his usual attire.
When the coast is clear, make your way back to the building and enter from below, then you will have to free the rest of the prisoners around the temple, including the woman’s children, Ito and Toukichi. Stealth is advised, though none of the enemies here are too tough at all — just beware the chanting shamans.
With Ito and Toukichi freed, travel back upward and deal with the Mongols, enter the temple to confront Zenshin, before realising he is out of his mind as a result of the Eagle’s poison. Use the flute to calm him, then the quest will be completed.
Completing Caretakers of the Eagle will net you the Charm of Deadly Return, 10 Linen, and a Minor Legend Increase.
