In recent years, Gamescom has become more and more of an undeniable presence in the gaming industry, and 2021 looks to be no exception. The Game Awards creator Geoff Keighley has once again announced that Opening Night Live, Gamescom’s opening livestream showcase, will be returning this year for 2021.

Here’s everything you need to know about how to watch Opening Night Live at Gamescom 2021.

Opening Night Live 2021 Start Date & Time

Gamescom 2021: Opening Night Live is taking place on Wednesday, August 25th, 2021 with the stream starting at 7pm BST / 8pm CEST / 2pm ET / 11am PT. The stream is set to last for two hours, and will feature plenty of news announcements regarding upcoming games.

Where To Watch Opening Night Live 2021

Opening Night Live will be showcased across The Game Awards various social media accounts, including YouTube and Twitch. It’ll likely be live on Facebook and Twitter as well, but Twitch and YouTube will probably be your best bet.

Visit openingnightlive.com for where to watch the stream on the day itself.

What To Expect From Opening Night Live 2021

There’s a lot of possibilities when it comes to what we can expect. Last year’s showcase included games like Star Wars: Squadrons, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, DOOM Eternal’s first DLC campaign and more, so it was a stacked showcase. We can expect more of the same from this year’s.

If we had to hard commit to a potential prediction, it’s possible that 2K Games will reveal their new franchise, which is rumoured to be a blend of Marvel and XCOM. A banner announcement like that would be a great way to capture headlines following Opening Night Live.

Given the fact that Geoff Keighley was the man responsible for re-debuting Elden Ring as part of Summer Game Fest during E3 season, we might see more from that game here too. Also, Death Stranding: Director’s Cut is on the horizon, so Keighley would likely jump at the chance of showcasing some new Kojima stuff. They’re like best mates, after all.
