Fortnite’s Guided Missile & Jetpack Return In v5.10

Fortnite

If you’re one of the five people who missed the Guided Missile in Fortnite as well as the Jetpack, today is your lucky day: Epic Games have added both back to the game as part of the v5.10 Content Update, but with a couple of caveats that may actually work out for the best.

The Guided Missile has been considerably weakened so that it’s now less of a killer item. Previously, the endgame would be ruined by people sitting and spamming the Guided Missile. Now, with its destructive properties being limited and a cap on rockets, it’s more useful for suppression and scouting over eliminating opponents.

The details on the updated weapon:

– Available in Epic and Legendary variants.
– Fuse duration reduced from 18 to 15 seconds.
– Movement Speed decreased from 1100 to 1000.
– Reload time increased to 2.4/2.2.
– Reduced player damage from 105/110 down to 74/77 damage.
– Reduced structure damage down from 1100 to 400.
– Explosions now damage structures with no regard for Line of Sight.
– Guided Missile can also be controlled via keyboard using the default movement inputs.

The Jetpack, which was loathed by many near the end of its run, also makes its return out of the infamous vault, but only as part of the Fly Explosives, which features only Jetpacks and explosive weapons. It’s a bit of dumb fun, which is why probably why Epic are letting the item loose again.

After being removed from the game after Epic found issues with it, the Slurp Juice also make its return for v5.10. The healing item was recently given it a sizeable buff but was not in the game for long before it was pulled.

Elsewhere in v5.10, there have been some additions to Playground as well as a couple of bug fixes. For all of the details, be sure to check out Epic’s official patch notes.
