Fortnite v14.50 Confirms The Return of the OG Default Skins (UPDATED)

But will they be free?

UPDATE: Fortnite’s OG return skins will be available in the Item Shop as part of a bundle, so it looks like they will not be free.

ORIGINAL STORY: Anyone hankering for the old days of Fortnite will soon be getting a little slice of nostalgia with the return of the original default skins from Chapter 1.

Discovered in the v14.50 files, it looks like the default skins will be selectable styles for Item Shop skins, which may be a little on the controversial side if true, seeing as how the original defaults were free.

The default skins are: Headhunter Prime, Wildstreak One, Vanguard Banshee, Original Renegade, Hawk Classic, Vintage Ramirez, Jonesy The First, and Rookie Spitfire. They will all be Uncommon rarity.

Here are all of the returning defaults, as well as some other new skins, such as Cloud Striker and Powerhouse, the latter of which will be a new Starter Pack for Save the World.

With the free release of the original pickaxe from November 4th, it looks like Epic are going all out on the nostalgia trip. While Chapter 2 brought many exciting changes to the game, plenty of people were upset that the old defaults were left behind.

With many calls to return to the feel and map of Chapter 1, which will likely never happen, it’s nice to see some compromises from Epic, though there are serious questions to be asked if these are paid skins.

We will update this when we know for sure, but as for the release of the default skins, most skins found in the game’s files will be available before the release of the next patch.

Fortnite: Chapter 2 – Season 4 is free-to-play on PC via the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Android.
