Fortnite Season 7 is a pretty big one as far as content changes go, thanks to a host of new weapons. One of the most intriguing new weapons is the Kymera Ray Gun.

Available in Rare, Epic, and Legendary rarities, the Kymera Ray Gun is, as you might have guessed, a weapon that belongs to Kymera, a new Battle Pass skin for the season whose style you can customise.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Kymera Ray Gun in Fortnite Season 7.

“This alien weapon emits a continuous deadly ray.”

As the description suggests, the Kymera Ray Gun works unlike any other weapon in the game as it shoots a constant beam that does more damage the longer an enemy is engulfed in it.

That’s why the magazine size is so high, even though it doesn’t technically have one, or one that’s like the other weapons. It has infinite ammo but will go on a cooldown.

The higher the rarity of the Kymera Ray Gun, the more damage it does and the shorter the reload.

Fortnite Season 7: Kymera Ray Gun Location

As it’s available in three distinct rarities, the Kymera Ray Gun spawns wherever loot typically spawns. That means you should be able to find it in chests, on the floor, air drops, and more. However, it’s most commonly dropped by the Trespasser NPCs, the aliens who are taking over the island this season.

It will be interesting to see what such a weapon does to the meta, especially as Fortnite is really all about hitting quick shots. A gun that’s only really strong when an enemy is unprotected doesn’t seem like a very good option, but you never know.

Fortnite is free-to-play on PC via the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Android.
