Foals have never been one to rush things along, generally taking around two years between albums to let what went before percolate in the ether before moving on with it, or from it. Thus, it’s been no different with the gap between 2013’s third full-length, Holy Fire, and this year’s imminent fourth effort, What Went Down (due August 28th).
Having been relatively quiet during that interval, aside from the odd soundbite about album plans, this year found them teasing out their latest with two pretty killer singles, but as of right now Foals’ fourth wave is right out the gate; the band have announced a full UK club tour to follow What Went Down, check for dates below, and get ready at your phones, laptops, tablets, or whatever, this Friday, August 21st.
As you’ll note from the venues boasting this fiery four-piece’s presence this November, Foals are looking to get up close and personal with this tour, brandishing their now more muscular and swampier sound in front of sardine-packed, sweaty masses. Having always been an incendiary live prospect, it seems Foals have no interest in getting further away from the fans, comfortable and anonymous at a distance, settling into veteran status.
It’s for this reason, I emphasise once more, be at your phones and laptops promptly this Friday.
