First Trailer For Sony’s Venom Movie Released Online

Tom Hardy Venom

Following on from yesterday’s poster, Sony Pictures have now unleashed the full trailer for Venom, which opens in wide release on October 5. The film is being directed by Zombieland’s Ruben Fleischer, and it was filmed last year across Atlanta, New York City, and San Francisco.

Venom stars Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock, a reporter infused with the alien Klyntar Symbiote, although the trailer shows very little of the actual Venom itself, instead mainly focusing on Hardy lying in a hospital bed. This may be a little disappointing for fans eagerly awaiting their chance to finally get a good look at the film’s creature designs, but we’ll probably be seeing a lot more as the marketing continues in the coming months.

We’ve been given a ton of conflicting information about whether or not Venom will take place within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Producer Amy Pascal seems to think it does, whereas Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige said otherwise, not to mention the recent rumors of Tom Holland possibly making a cameo as Peter Parker, so it looks like we’re just going to have to wait for an official confirmation.

Either way, Venom also stars Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, and Jenny Slate. Let us know in the comments if the newly released trailer has you hyped, or if you will prefer to wait until we finally get a decent look at the titular anti-hero.
