Gaming isn’t cheap these days, and is only going to get less so as we move into the next-generation of gaming. Subscription services are on the rise to offer an alternative and while no two people will agree on them, when EA Play Pro offers two of the biggest games of October for a lot less money, it’s hard to say no to the value.

FIFA 21 and Star Wars: Squadrons are two EA published games that will set you back roughly £80/$100 if you buy them outright. If you don’t care about their multiplayer modes and just want to spend your time in single-player, figuring out Career Mode in FIFA and blasting across the galaxy in Squadrons, you can save yourself £65/$85 with EA Play Pro.

What Is EA Play Pro?

EA Play Pro, formerly known as Origin Access Premier, is a PC subscription service for EA’s Origin launcher that gives you access to EA’s games on day one for £14.99/$14.99 a month.

In the case of FIFA 21, you can actually play the full game earlier than anywhere else with the game becoming available on October 1st and as its Ultimate Edition too, for those who care about Ultimate Team.

There is no contract with EA Play Pro, meaning that you can cancel it within your first month and only ever pay for the first month, though you will lose access to both games once your subscription is up. If you’re just wanting to experience the Squadrons story and mess around in FIFA, you can save a huge amount of money.

Both games can be downloaded via pre-load, meaning that you will be able to play them the second they go live on PC. Here are the times and dates for both games.

EA Play Pro release date: October 1, 2020 4:00 PM BST

Star Wars: Squadrons

Though EA is hardly anyone’s favourite publisher, EA Play Pro offers a huge amount of value when compared to the retail prices. You can subscribe to EA Play Pro for five months in total and still pay less overall for just FIFA 21.

No, you don’t own these games, but just like Xbox Game Pass, you can get your money’s worth and then move on to the next thing.
