Diamond Dallas Page will be inducted into this year’s Hall of Fame by none other than the catalyst of the Monday Night Wars, Eric Bischoff.

It seems only appropriate for the controversial genius behind some of WCW’s most notorious angles to shed some stories on one of his most successful babyface acts. There were several potential names that would have sufficed for Page’s pre-induction speech, Scott Hall and Jake Roberts being the two most cited.

However, I personally believe Eric will truly capture how dedicated Page was as a flagbearer for World Championship Wrestling, remaining loyal to Eric and the locker room throughout the entirety of WCW’s lifespan. After all, he is being inducted into a Wrestling hall of fame, rather than for Time’s Man of the Year (which I would totally put him forward for, dude’s a saint).

It’s a shame it’s taken this long for Eric to be so directly involved with WWE content. Since the triumphant runs of Goldberg and Sting in recent years and sincere gestures that WWE have been giving WCW, you’d think Bischoff may have made a homecoming of his own. Perhaps next year we’ll see Eric enter the Hall of Fame. Either way, I’m going to be making the most of his appearance next weekend.
