Elite Dangerous

Frontier have announced that Elite Dangerous: Odyssey, the boots on the ground expansion to the popular space-faring simulation, will be launching on PC on May 19th. To celebrate the release, you can check out the trailer at the top of the page.

What Is Elite Dangerous: Odyssey?

Odyssey is an ambitious expansion to Elite Dangerous that will finally allow commanders to land on planets and explore the surface. Of course, that means there’s other players to encounter on these planets too, meaning you’ll be able to take on missions together or even against each other. Players will be able to customise their suits allowing them to specialise in salvage, exploration or combat, adding new layers to how players can spend their time in Elite Dangerous.

Where Can I Play Elite Dangerous: Odyssey?

Odyssey will be available on PC from May 19th, and it’s available to pre-order right now for £29.99/$39.99/€34.99. Players can also purchase the Deluxe Alpha Pack for £39.99/$54.99/€46.99, which includes the full expansion, the official soundtrack and access to the ongoing Alpha phase. The Alpha does end on April 30th, so if you want to spend that extra cash, you better do it quickly.

However, if you’re hoping to play this expansion on PS4, PS5, Xbox One or Xbox Series X | S, you’re going to be waiting for a while. Frontier have confirmed that they’re aiming for an autumn 2021 release date for the console version of the expansion.
