The Uchigatana is a staple of Soulsborne games. First appearing in Demon’s Souls, the Uchigatana is a fan favorite and the choice armament for many players of the series. With its intense bleed damage and wide swing arc, it’s a powerful and effective weapon in the right hands, which is why we’re gonna tell you how to find the Uchigatana in Elden Ring.

If you want this beastly katana from the jump, you’re in luck because you can find it in the opening area of Limgrave. The Uchigatana can be found in the Northern stretch of Limgrave between the Saintsbridge and the Warmaster’s Shack.

For the precise location, see the above map screenshot, but what you’re looking for is the Deathtouched Catacombs. The Deathtouched Catacombs are one of the many optional dungeons you can find throughout Elden Ring and, as such, they come with a small set of tasks to complete as well as an optional boss to fight.

Luckily, you don’t even have to fight the boss to get the Uchigatana in Elden Ring. All you have to do is look for the hidden paths between the statues and effigies of the catacombs. Be sure to tilt your camera around as you explore because that’s your path to this weapon.

It’s also your path to success if you want to finish this dungeon. The place where the Uchigatana can be found is also the place where the annoying skeletal archers are sniping down at you so getting up there is just a net benefit in every way to finishing the Deathtouched Catacombs.

Once you’ve slain those skeletons, the Uchigatana is all yours and, since weapons don’t degrade in Elden Ring, you won’t even have to worry about it breaking from use. So slash, swing, and draw blood to your heart’s content with this badass blade.

Elden Ring is available on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X & S, and Xbox One.
