For years, JRPG fans have been petitioning for Nintendo to release Mother 3 in the West. Today, we’re one step closer to that becoming a reality, as Nintendo have announced that Earthbound and Mother, which released in the West as Earthbound Beginnings, will be available via Nintendo Switch Online’s NES and SNES libraries. Originally, only Earthbound was available in the West as part of the series, with Mother remaining a Japan-exclusive until 2015 where the game was ported to the Wii U virtual console as Earthbound Beginnings. Unfortunately, Mother 3 has never made it to the West, but after this announcement, Nintendo seem closer than ever to making it happen.
