E3 2018: Microsoft Announce Ninja Theory, Compulsion & More As First-Party Developers

Hellblade PS4 Review

They aren’t messing around. Phil Spencer announced at E3 2018 that Microsoft were going all out on the acquisitions of new games to work on first-party titles for them.

Ninja Theory (Hellblade), Playground (Forza) who will also be working on a brand new IP, Undead Labs (State of Decay), Compulsion Games (We Happy Few), and has opened a brand new studio called The Initiative.

We Happy Few is due to also land on PS4, so it will be interesting to see what happens with that. It might be the same deal with Valve’s acquisition of Campo Santo.

Looks like we may not have to worry about a lack of exclusives for much longer.
