E3 2016: Skyrim Remastered to Be Unveiled?

Skyrim

Will we be seeing a remastered version of one of the best Elder Scrolls games at E3?

Well, the fine folks at NeoGaf have said that Bethesda are rumoured to unveil a remastered version of Skyrim for both Xbox One and PS4. The full lowdown of the conversation can be found here.

I am hoping that this rumour will be proven correct as an updated version Skyrim for console players would be awesome and if they were in the remastering mood maybe doing Oblivion as well wouldn’t hurt. I was new to the series coming in at number five but I was instantly hooked by Skyrim and to see it rebooted, shiny and new for consoles will be something to look forward if the rumours are to be believed.

What the users on NeoGAF also revealed is that the remastered Skyrim will be getting full mod support much like Fallout 4 for the current crop of consoles. I am happy to be seeing Skyrim updated for consoles, I started playing it on a console and still have found memories or watching Lydia try and fail at getting around traps in caves.

But instead of giving us something we’ve already got, why not give us something we haven’t? I may sound like I’m being greedy due to the fact that we got Fallout 4 not long ago and console players are now getting mod support, but instead of going back to something safe why not branch out into the unknown? They did it, sort of, with Fallout 4. Why not go for broke with the Elder Scrolls series.

Nevertheless if we do see a new and improved Skyrim then all the better. But therein lies the rub this is all still speculation and rumour. Bethesda could come to E3 and just prove that the Skyrim remastered rumours were just that: rumours.
