Drew McIntyre Reclaims WWE Championship On RAW

Two time!

In last night’s RAW main event clash between former champ, Drew McIntyre, and ‘The Viper’ Randy Orton, ‘The Scottish Psychopath’ reclaimed his title after a gruelling rubber match with his bitter rival. Drew McIntyre nailed Orton with a huge Claymore to bring the feud to a close, adding his second WWE title reign to his record.

McIntyre achieves this just in time for Survivor Series, where he will now face off against WWE Universal Champion, Roman Reigns, in the show’s main event. WWE have the idea that McIntyre/Reigns is a marquee WrestleMania attraction, even though it’s happened already in New York to minor success. Now that McIntyre has come into his own as a leading babyface, we’ll have to see whether they make more of a meal out of their sequel feud that kicks-off this Sunday at Survivor Series.

This begs the question, why did McIntyre have to drop the title to Randy Orton in the first place? Nobody likes a game of hot-potato. Regardless, congrats to the first-ever two-time British WWE Champion!
