Bandai Namco have announced that their upcoming 7v1 multiplayer experience Dragon Ball: The Breakers will be launching on October 14th for PC, PS4, Xbox One and the Nintendo Switch, with support for both the PS5 and Xbox Series X | S through backwards compatibility. In order to ensure that the game runs as well as possible at launch, Bandai Namco have announced another closed network test, after the first closed network test at the end of last year.
What Is Dragon Ball: The Breakers?
Dragon Ball: The Breakers is a 7v1, asymmetrical multiplayer game where players find themselves caught up in a phenomenon known as the Temporal Seam, a place outside of regular time and space. Players are split between the seven survivors and one Raider, who’ll play as a known antagonist from the Dragon Ball saga.
As survivors, you’ll have to use various gadgets and abilities in order to evade the deadly Raider and use the Super Time Machine in order to escape. While there are different weapons and items, the most precious are Transpheres, which contain the souls of powerful Super warriors and can be used to take the fight to the Raider, albeit temporarily. Meanwhile, the Raider will continue to get stronger as the match progresses.

Sign-ups for the closed network test are live right now on the Bandai Namco website. The test will be free to play on all platforms, although the website says that signing will give you “a chance” to play, so it doesn’t look like there are any guarantees you’ll be entered into the test.
Dragon Ball: The Breakers Closed Network Test Content
The closed network test will feature two playable Raiders, in the form of Cell and Frieza, though the final game will likely contain more. As for survivors, they’ll be given access to “Avatar”, which will likely be a player created character, along with the Oolong Survivor Skin and the Bulma Survivor Skin.
Dragon Ball: The Breakers – Will There Be An Open Beta?
Bandai Namco has confirmed that Dragon Ball: The Breakers will receive an open beta before the game launches in October, though full details of which haven’t been confirmed yet. Judging from the date of the closed network test and game’s release date, it’d be likely that the open beta will be held in September, barring any sudden delays to the final game.
