A new DOOM Eternal trailer released today showcases new enemies and a new weapon sure to make DOOM fans exceptionally happy.
The new story trailer for the upcoming sequel to 2016’s reboot introduces players to two new enemy types known as the Marauder and the Gladiator. The former is a menacing humanoid demon with massive horns that wields a sturdy battleaxe and shotgun, while the latter is a towering hell monster with a gigantic shield that will surely be difficult to topple.
Meanwhile, players will be able to finally wield a weapon that looks nearly identical to The Crucible, a demonic artifact that served as a major plot item in the last entry – though it’s yet to be seen if the two are directly related. Either way, using this new sword appears to yield plenty of slicing and dicing to keep DOOM enthusiasts plenty satisfied.
The hype surrounding DOOM Eternal hasn’t seemed to wane despite a delay that pushed its release back nearly half a year. After winning E3’s Best PC game award and promising a future release on Nintendo Switch, DOOM Eternal is poised to be everything fans have asked for and more.
We’ll know for sure when the game releases on March 20, 2020 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia.
