DOOM Eternal Delayed Until 2020, Switch Even Later

Ack, our hearts.

DOOM Eternal, which was scheduled to launch this November, has been pushed back to March 20th, 2020, developer id Software has announced.

The surprising news was posted to id’s social media in a note which mentioned the hefty delay as a means of “delivering the best experience” and “living up to our standards”.

In addition to this delay, DOOM Eternal on Switch will now not launch at the same time as all the others; more will be revealed on that in due time.

To make up for the delay, id and Bethesda will be adding DOOM 64 as a pre-order bonus, which will be available on the very same day.

Invasion Mode will also be introduced after the game’s launch, which allows you to enter other players’ games as a demon.

Gutting news for anyone who’s been waiting to rip and tear DOOM Eternal a new one, but a delayed game that’s had extra care and attention is better than a bugged game with no care at all.

DOOM Eternal launches March 20th, 2020 for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Stadia. Check out the incredible trailer below to make the wait even worse.
