No sir.

The Last Stand: Aftermath is the latest in a long line of zombie games, though it has a few very interesting twists that make it absolutely worth a look. Can you give it a look with a friend in co-op, though?

No, there is no co-op in The Last Stand: Aftermath. It is entirely a single-player experience where you explore, salvage, and die. That last bit’s by design.

Thanks to the game’s roguelite nature, players will cycle through various different doomed survivors as the clock ticks down towards their death from the zombie infection. Each time you die, you will play as a different survivor as you aim to make your way towards “The End” with each run being random.

Such a hook wouldn’t really translate all that well to co-op. The Last Stand: Aftermath is also balanced to always have you scrimping and clawing for resources, with it only being you against countless zombies adding to the tension. Putting another player into the mix might dilute things a bit.

The Last Stand: Aftermath is still absolutely worth playing as a solo experience, though: it could be one of 2021’s sleeper hits.

The Last Stand: Aftermath is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X | S.
