Details On The New Yakuza Game To Be Revealed Next Month

Mark July 10th on your calendars.

Yakuza

With the release of their Yakuza spin-off Judgment scheduled for tomorrow, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio have announced that they will be revealing more details about the next mainline instalment of the Yakuza series on July 10th.

Via an interview with the Taiwanese website Gamebase, which was translated by the fine folks at Gematsu, series producer Daisuke Sato spoke about the details that’ll be revealed on July 10th: ““On July 10, we will announce the supporting actress for the new title, as well as share the latest information on the new title, so please look forward to it.” Sato also remained coy about the potential of seeing series regular Kazuma Kiryu appear in some capacity.

We already know some details about the new Yakuza title. Announced back in 2017, the new title will follow Ichiban Kasuga, who was introduced in Yakuza Online, a Japanese-only card game. This new game will be the first chance Ichiban has to shine as a proper protagonist, which should make the next Yakuza game interesting to say the least.

News about a Western release is probably still a long way away, considering Yakuza’s localisation still isn’t perfect, but we’ve got our fingers crossed that we’ll see some gameplay footage. Are you excited about the new Yakuza title? Sound off in the comments below.
