Whether you’ve been trying her out in the Public Test Build or are just eagerly awaiting her arrival with Dead by Daylight: Alien later this month, here’s everything you need to get to grips with before playing as this absolute girl boss. From stealth to aura-reading to Killer stunning, Ripley’s perks have a lot to offer. There’s definitely a strong selection here.

Lucky Star

“When you hide in a locker, this perk activates. You leave no pools of blood and make no grunts of pain for 10 seconds. When you exit the locker, you see other survivors and the closest generator’s aura in yellow for 10 seconds. This perk then goes on cooldown for 40/35/30 seconds.”

Chemical Trap

“After completing 70%/60%/50% progress on any generator, this perk activates. While standing next to a dropped pallet, press the Active Ability Button 2 to install a Trap, which stays active for 100/110/120 seconds. The aura of trapped pallets are revealed in yellow to all Survivors. When the Killer performs the break action on the trapped pallet, the trap explodes, and they are slowed by 50% for 4 seconds.”

Light Footed

“When you are healthy, this perk activates. Your running footsteps are silent. This perk goes on cool-down for 28/24/20 seconds after doing a rushed action.”

Once you’ve achieved the Adept for a survivor, there’s little reason to stick to their core perks. Shake things up. Here’s three ideas for Ellen Ripley builds:

The ‘Locker Legend’ Build

Survivors can’t be too keen about having to squeeze themselves into those lockers. It inflicts blindness, it probably stinks of The Dredge in there, and did you just hear something meow? Make your time hiding in lockers really worthwhile with this build. And if the Killer has Iron Maiden? Uhh, good luck.

Try pairing Lucky Star with:

Inner Healing (General)

“Each time you cleanse a Totem, Inner Healing activates:

You are automatically healed 1 Health State when hiding inside a Locker for 10/9/8     seconds while injured or suffering from the Deep Wound Status Effect.
Inner Healing does not activate if you currently suffer from the Broken Status Effect.”

Head On (Jane Romero)

“While standing in a Locker for 3 seconds, Head On activates:
When rushing out of a Locker, stun the Killer for 3 seconds if they are within range.
Head On causes the Exhausted Status Effect for 60/50/40 seconds.

Head On cannot be used when Exhausted or when you have accrued Idle Crows.”

Built to Last (Felix Richter)

“Hiding inside a Locker for 14/13/12 seconds while carrying a depleted Item will replenish its Charges to 99 %.

Each use of Built to Last reduces this percentage by -33 %.”

The ‘Leader of the Bully Squad’ Build

Pink bunny Feng Min with a flashlight who? You’re what Killers really have nightmares about. You take immense joy in antagonising the Killer at any given opportunity and you’re not about to apologise for that.

Try pairing Chemical Trap with:

Saboteur (Jake Park)

“For the duration of the Killer carrying another Survivor, you see the Aura of every Hook within 56 metres of the carried Survivor’s pick-up location:
The Auras of regular Hooks are revealed to you in white.
The Auras of Scourge Hooks are revealed to you in yellow.
Unlocks the ability to sabotage Hooks without needing a Toolbox:
Sabotaging a Hook without a Toolbox takes 2.3 seconds.
That Sabotage action has a cool-down of 70/65/60 seconds.”

Flash Bang (Leon Kennedy)

“After repairing Generators for a total of 70/60/50 %, Flashbang activates:
Enter any Locker and press the Ability button to craft a Flash Grenade.

The Flashbang is left behind when escaping the Trial.”

Blast Mine (Jill Valentine)

“After repairing Generators for a total of 50 %, Blast Mine activates:
After continuing to repair any Generator for another 3 seconds, you can press the Active Ability button to install a Trap, which stays active for 100/110/120 seconds.
When the Killer damages the Trapped Generator, its Trap explodes, stunning them and blinding anyone nearby.

Blast Mine deactivates after triggering successfully or once the timer runs out.
The Auras of Trapped Generators are revealed to all Survivors in yellow.”

The ‘Escape Artist’ Build

You’re there one minute and then suddenly gone. Leave Killers bewildered and frustrated by your ability to seemingly vanish without a trace.

Try pairing Light Footed with:

 Quick and Quiet (Meg Thomas)

“You do not make as much noise as others when quickly vaulting over obstacles or hiding in Lockers. Suppresses both the Loud Noise Notification and the sound effects triggered by rushing to vault Windows, Pallets, or rushing to enter or exit Lockers.
Quick & Quiet has a cool-down of 30/25/20 seconds.”

Distortion (Jeff Johansen)

“Start the Trial with 3 Tokens.

Whenever the Killer attempts to read your Aura, Distortion activates, consuming 1 Token, and the following effects apply:
Blocks your Aura from being read for the next 6/8/10 seconds.
Suppresses the creation of Scratch Marks for the next 6/8/10 seconds.
For every 30 seconds you are within the Killer’s Terror Radius, Distortion recharges 1 Token.
Distortion cannot accumulate more Tokens than its initial count.
Distortion does not activate when you are in the Dying State.”

Lucky Break (Yui Kimura)

“Whenever you are in the Injured State, Lucky Break activates:
Suppresses your Pools of Blood and Scratch Marks for a maximum of 40/50/60 seconds, after which Lucky Break deactivates.
Each 1 second spent healing another Survivor recharges Lucky Break by 1 second up to its maximum Effect duration.
Lucky Break also deactivates whenever you are Healthy or in the Dying State.”

Dead By Daylight is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X & S, and Switch.
