D-Generation X

The run-up to WrestleMania marks a very exciting time for wrestling fans around the world. The time is rife with speculation and intrigue as the fans gather to wonder who will get their WrestleMania moment this year, and also who WWE will recognise for their contributions to the industry by inducting them into the WWE Hall of Fame.

Started in 1993, the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony has been the company’s way of thanking and noticing the talent that has helped shape the face of the company since it began all those years ago.

The news was broken by ESPN that this year the legendary faction D-Generation X would be joining the likes of Andre the Giant and Ric Flair in the Hall of Fame. The group wreaked havoc on Raw back during the Attitude Era. Led by the already legendary Triple H and Shawn Michaels, the group exploded in popularity due to their crass humour and memorable moments.

The version of the group that will see themselves inducted are the aforementioned Triple H, Shawn Michaels, ‘X-Pac’ Sean Waltman, The New Age Outlaws Road Dogg and Billy Gunn and, most notably, ‘The Ninth Wonder of the World’, Chyna.

Wrestling fans have been crying out for Chyna’s induction since her death in 2016 as her bodybuilder physique and physical prowess changed the face of women’s wrestling. However, due to backstage politics and her controversial life outside of wrestling, many did not expect to ever see her inducted, until now.

Her induction is long overdue and it brings such pleasure to see that Chyna is finally being recognised for her groundbreaking part in WWE’s history.
