Cuphead Delayed Until the Middle of 2017

It seems like we keep jinxing every game we put on a list of recommendations to look out for. One of the most interesting looking games of 2016 will now become one of the most interesting games of 2017 as Cuphead has been delayed by developer Studio MDHR.

Heavily inspired by animation styles of the 1930s, Cuphead was looking like an essential title for platformer fans as nothing has really been seen like it before. It enamoured plenty of people, including us, but now we’re just going to have to wait a little while longer.

Speaking on the decision, Studio MDHR said:

“Throughout this year we discussed reducing the scope to make a 2016 release, but we made the difficult decision to delay the launch in order to ship with our vision intact. We are happy to announce that Cuphead will be coming to Xbox One, Windows 10 and Steam in Mid-2017.”

This isn’t the last delay of 2016 and it most certainly won’t be the last. Delays are commonplace this year, but as long as the developers are given the time they need to make things as perfect as they can be and try to rid us of day one patches, it’s hard to complain.
