Since losing their equivalent of the Intercontinental Championship back at Wrestle Kingdom 13, Chris Jericho has been MIA from New Japan Pro Wrestling, seemingly dedicating all his time to his upcoming AEW debut. After months of waiting on The Alpha’s next move, Jericho finally made his intentions known to the world, as he challenged current IWGP Champion Kazuchika Okada to a match at NJPW Dominion.
Shocking fans at this past weekend’s event in Fukuoka, Jericho appeared in typical Chris Jericho fashion – via a metaphor-seeped vignette. Surrounded by eerie dolls and circus balloons, The Ayatollah of Rock and Rolla donned his make-up and declared that he is The Painmaker and will capture his first ever IWGP World Title in June.

This is a huge match for wrestling fans across the world, bringing together one of the hottest young overseas stars and an icon of Western professional wrestling. Considering how incredible Jericho’s work has been with the likes of Kenny Omega and Tetsuya Naito, there’s no doubt that the title fight at Dominion will be an instant classic.
Chris Jericho has a massive couple of months ahead of him. With the main event clash with Kenny Omega at AEW’s Double or Nothing and now a championship fight against ‘The Rainmaker’, what better time to be a Jericoholic?
