Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Now Backwards Compatible On Xbox One

Call of Duty 4

It seems like it’s been a while since the last backwards compatibility announcement for Xbox One, but they’re back in a big way. Major Nelson has just tweeted out that Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare will be joining the backwards compatibility program today. Check it out below.

One of 2007’s finest games (damn, it’s over a decade old), Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was the game that really put the Call of Duty series on the map. The World War 2 games prior were great and all, but CoD 4 pushed the franchise to a whole other level.

If you’re thinking about picking it up and going back to your precious 10th Prestige account with all the golden guns, it’s available right now as part of the Xbox Spring Sale, which is handy considering my local Grainger Games has shut down. That being said, the game is filled with hackers these days, so expect the worst before you log on.
