Brie Larson Reveals Captain Marvel Has Officially Finished Shooting

Shooting for the highly anticipated Captain Marvel, set for release March 8th, 2019, has officially completed. The news was revealed by lead actress Brie Larson herself, who posted an image of the final shoot day calendar and clapperboard on her Twitter account.

The picture shows the shooting schedule with the final day down as 6th June crossed out before ‘home’ which is clearly written on the following day, and ‘Freedom’ underneath. The clapperboard for Captain Marvel is covered in signatures in the same photo.

Captain Marvel will release just before the untitled Avengers sequel and will follow Carol Danvers in the 1990s, a US Air Force Pilot who becomes Captain Marvel after an accident that infuses her with alien D.N.A. With her new powers, she will have to use them to stop Earth from being caught amidst the conflict of two alien worlds.

The film is directed by filmmaking duo Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, known for It’s Kind of a Funny Story and Mississippi Grind. Samuel L. Jackson will return as a younger Nick Fury and fans can expect to see him digitally de-aged by up to 25 years, revealed by producer Kevin Feige last week. It’ll be interesting to see how they explain Captain Marvel’s absence during Avengers: Infinity War, considering she’s one of the strongest heroes in the entire MCU.

So are you looking forward to the film? Will the wait until March 2019 kill you? If you need a Marvel fix to tide you over, remember Ant-Man and the Wasp released in cinemas just last week so don’t miss out.
