With its status being up in the air shortly following the release of Spectre, we finally have some concrete info on Bond 25.

The as yet untitled Bond movie will begin filming on 4 March 2019 at Pinewood Studios (the home of the franchise for the longest time) to aim towards a 14 February 2020 release.

Cary Joji Fukunaga will be in the director’s chair, who you may know for his work on True Detective and Beasts of No Nation. His limited series, Maniac, starring Jonah Hill and Emma Stone, is set to debut on Netflix tomorrow (September 21st).

Daniel Craig is set to reprise his role as James Bond, despite publicly saying that he would rather slash his wrists than do so again. People can change their minds, I guess.

On the news, Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli had the following to say:

“We are delighted to be working with Cary. His versatility and innovation make him an excellent choice for our next James Bond adventure.”

Bond 25 might be an important moment for the Bond franchise, and not just because it will be a milestone entry. Spectre was not beloved by many and with Craig almost certainly likely to see this as his farewell, it will be interesting to see how this era of Bond wraps up.
