Bloober Team’s The Medium Launching This December

Arriving on Santa's Slay.

The Medium

Bloober Team have announced that their upcoming psychological horror game The Medium will launch on December 10th as an Xbox Series X/S console exclusive. It’ll also arrive on PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store and the Microsoft Store. In celebration of the news, there’s a new trailer that you can check out above.

What’s The New Trailer About?

The video sees various developers at Bloober Team, who are responsible for the likes of Layers of Fear, Blair Witch and Observer, discuss the game’s dual reality world and how the dark world of The Medium was inspired by the work of Polish artist ZdzisÅ‚aw BeksiÅ„ski. His work creating dystopian nightmares gave the team plenty of reference points to craft the horrors that the game houses, which you can see for yourself in the below concept art.

What’s The Medium Again, And How Much Is It?

The Medium is a third person, psychological horror game that puts players in the shoes of Marianne, the game’s titular medium who’s haunted by nightmarish visions. Using her connection to both the real and spirit world, Marianne must explore both worlds, solve puzzles and attempt to survive encounters with hostile spirits.

Pre-orders are now live for The Medium on all available platforms, and the game will cost a very reasonable $49.99 / €49.99 / £41.74. Better still, players looking to play The Medium on PC will be able to enjoy a 10% discount when pre-ordering on Steam, the Epic Games Store and the Microsoft Store. That being said, Steam pre-orders will also come bundled with the Original Score soundtrack, created in collaboration with Silent Hill’s Akira Yamaoka and Bloober’s own Arkadiusz Reikowski, along with a digital artbook for the game.
